Recently, BIGBANG’s Daesung opened up about his views on marriage during a lively chat with fellow K-pop artist CL, a former 2NE1 member. The duo appeared in a video on Daesung’s YouTube channel, Zip Daesung, titled “Let’s Hang Out Like This Until We’re 60 | I’ll Be a Grandma!!,” released on Friday December 13, 2024.
The video showcased the close connection between Daesung and CL, who just reunited with 2NE1 for their first group world tour in over ten years. Fans enjoyed their playful and honest dialogue, providing insight into their strong friendship.
When CL inquired about Daesung’s romantic life, he mentioned, “I’m not seeing anyone at the moment, but I aspire to get married before I hit 40.” He quipped, “From here on out, it’s all about the hustle,” but promptly retracted that sentiment.
Always the jokester, CL reacted with a chuckle, “That’s a bit daunting. You’re way too strategic. It’s honestly pretty unsettling.” Daesung laughed and responded, “I’m even mapping out my marriage plans. If I declare I’ll tie the knot before 40, I’ll make it happen.
Whoever it may be, good luck catching me!” Pondering his age, Daesung remarked, “I suddenly realized I’m already 35. Everyone around me keeps insisting I need to start making moves if I want to settle down.” He awkwardly chuckled, adding, “But truthfully, I’m not making any moves on that front.”
CL shared her own views on marriage, stating, “I do consider it. I’m fond of kids, too.” She mentioned her desire to get married and begin a family if she encounters the right person. In contrast, Daesung noted that kids aren’t really his preference:
“I’m not particularly enthusiastic about kids.” The conversation lightened when CL jokingly commented, “Before you even think about kids, you should focus on finding a good wife first.” She continued, “But she’ll need to be able to cope with all your quirks.
Or just ignore them.” Daesung retorted, “Do you really think I’m messing around at home too? I’m just a normal guy!” CL laughed, saying, “Oh no, you’re definitely not normal. There’s no such thing as normal in this world,” prompting even more laughter from both.
