G-Dragon allegedly gave a code of agreement for South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol to step down. The allegation arose after G-Dragon was caught liking a post by Korean poet Ha Sang Wook. In his post on social media, Sang Wook shared a piece of his poem.

" Please, go by yourself ," read Ha Sang Wook's post which G-Dragon liked. Although it did not write about Yoon Suk Yeol, the writing was said to be a depiction of the current state of Korea. The post was also said to be a call for President Yoon Suk Yeol to step down.

Although G-Dragon's reaction is still speculative, his album titled Coup D'état  or which means coup went viral. The album, released in 2013, was widely sought after by the public hours after the Korean president declared martial law.

Meanwhile, Yoon Suk Yeol previously declared martial law for the first time since 1979 on Tuesday December 3, 2024 at 11:00 p.m. local time. However, the situation was lifted six hours later after receiving a lot of backlash from the public.

Korean artists are also affected by the state of martial law in Korea. Starting from actress Seo Hyun Jin who had to cancel an interview session to promote her latest drama titled The Trunk in the Samcheong-dong area, Jongno-gu, Seoul.

In addition, MONSTA X's IM became the first idol to announce the news of martial law. When the president announced the news, IM was on the radio. "Here's the latest news. Tonight, President Yoon Suk Yeol announced- has declared martial law," he said.
