Kim Hee Won Addresses Rumors of Dating Park Bo Young Before Working Together on 'Light Shop'

Kim Hee Won underwent an interview with local media on December 20, 2024. The actor discussed his latest drama project titled "Light Shop". In the Disney+ drama, Hee Woon is not an actor, but remains as a director. 

In the interview, Hee Won touched on the dating rumors with Park Bo Young that emerged in 2020.  At that time, the agencies of both actors denied the dating rumors, saying that they were just good seniors and juniors. 

Now, Hee Won has spoken up for the first time directly regarding the dating rumors with Bo Young. The reason is, Bo Young is one of the main players in "Light Shop" whose acting is directed by Hee Won as director. Hee Won said, "When the dating rumors spread, I got a lot of phone calls. 

However, I thought I was going to die from the flu. I put my phone on silent mode and didn't answer. I took a nap and when I woke up, there were 80 calls." Hee Won, who did not know that there was a dating rumor with Bo Young, immediately contacted his manager. 

"I contacted the manager and he said something like that happened. Then Bo Young called and said, 'Senior, what should I do about this?'," he continued. Hee Won advised Bo Young to deny it straight away.  "I told her, 'Just say it's not true.' 

Then my manager called and said I needed to make an official statement, so I told her to just say no," he said. At that time, Hee Won only focused on her condition which was still sick. "I was in a lot of pain, but they kept calling me. It wasn't a big deal to me. 

So I didn't feel anything special after that," Hee Won recalled. Hee Won also revealed how he cast Bo Young as one of the players in "Light Shop". "This time too, I told her to just read it, like I was giving a script to an actor and if it's fun, let's do it," he concluded.

Meanwhile, "Light Shop" is a drama that depicts a story that unfolds when customers with suspicious secrets visit a light shop, the only place that lights up a dark alley. This is the second script by writer Kang Full, who created a global sensation with "Moving" last year.
