Britney Spears announced that she has moved to Mexico on her 43rd birthday, which fell on December 2, 2024. She found it difficult to do activities while in the United States because she was often followed by paparazzi.
“It hurts my heart when paparazzi make my face look like I’m wearing a Jason mask. It doesn’t look like me at all,” Britney Spears said on her social media. “They were always mean to me, the paparazzi and their photos and the way they illustrated to get me into their story.
That’s why I moved to Mexico,” she continued. Previously, Spears had made a video allegedly mocking the paparazzi by saying, “I turned 5 this year and I have to go to kindergarten tomorrow.”
It's not the first time Spears has spoken out about the actions of the paparazzi that have harmed her. In 2021, she also commented on the paparazzi who followed her while on vacation in Maui. “It’s so crazy being in Maui, the paparazzi know where I am and it’s not fun!!
It’s so hard to get anywhere because they keep showing up to take my picture,” Britney Spears continued. “Not only did they take the picture, they edited it and it was embarrassing. I know my body is not perfect but I don’t look like what they made me look like.
It’s rude,” Britney Spears said. On the other hand, Spears has not revealed her plans to return to Hollywood or pursue her music career as before. She is active on Instagram by uploading videos of herself dancing.
