Super Junior's Kim Heechul shocked fans with his confession that he suffered from a disability due to a traffic accident. In the broadcast of My Little Old Boy on Sunday January 12, 2025, Heechul visited a fortune teller and revealed the most painful part of his life that he had never shared with fans.

The fortune teller said that Heechul experienced a turning point when he was in his 20s. "He lived a life full of good fortune. He had a major turning point in his 20s," said the fortune teller. Hearing this, Heechul revealed that he had been in a serious car accident at that time.

"I was in a serious car accident at that time," Heechul said, referring to a traffic accident he was involved in during his activities with Super Junior in 2006. "Your body's axis is damaged. You have to be careful this July. Even in the summer, be careful.

If you break a bone or break something, you can become completely disabled," the astrologer warned. In response, Heechul unexpectedly admitted that he has a disability rating, something he has never told anyone before.

"I've never told anyone, but I actually have a disability rating," Heechul explained. "There's a disability assessment sticker that you can put on your car. I went with my manager to get the sticker, but then I thought, 'No, I have to be more active.'

So, I purposely didn't get the sticker and came back," he explained. Heechul explained that he was reluctant to be open about this because he didn't want to worry fans. "I didn't want to admit that my body was sick. I thought that if I could just overcome it, everything would be fine.

That was 10 years ago. I didn't tell my fans because I thought they would be sad if they heard 'your oppa got a disability rating'," he concluded. In 2006, Heechul was involved in a car accident while returning to Seoul after attending the funeral of Super Junior member Donghae's father.

As a result, he suffered injuries that required 12 weeks of recovery. He underwent major surgery to insert seven metal rods for his broken femur and ankle, and was later diagnosed with a grade 4 disability.
