GDH is back with a new movie that is ready to shake your stomach titled ' The Red Envelope '. This Thai movie is scheduled to air in March and is adapted from the popular Taiwanese movie 'Marry My Dead Body'. Carrying a comedy genre combined with supernatural and mystery elements, this film will be an exciting watch for fans.
Directed by Chayanop Boonprakob—the man behind the hits 'SuckSeed' and 'Friend Zone', 'The Red Envelope' is also produced by GDH 559, one of the biggest production houses in Thailand. The presence of this film is certainly highly anticipated, especially with the big names involved in it.
The story of 'The Red Envelope' focuses on Menn, a former robber who has now switched professions to become a police spy. One day, he accidentally finds a mysterious red envelope. Who would have thought, this envelope would bind him in a supernatural contract to marry a ghost.
What's surprising is that the ghost who is his "partner" is Titi, a cheerful gay man with a strong personality. In order to be free from this bond, Menn must help Titi complete her unfinished business in the world, including uncovering the mystery behind her death.
The film stars two famous Thai actors, Putthipong Assaratanakul or better known as Billkin, who plays Menn. Meanwhile, Krit Amnuaydechkorn aka PP Krit will play the character Titi. The presence of these two actors is certainly a special attraction for fans, considering that this is their acting reunion after the success of the series 'I Told Sunset About You'.
The difference is, this time they will be present in a more hilarious and action-packed story concept. For PP Krit, 'The Red Envelope' is also his big screen debut, while Billkin previously successfully set a record through the film 'How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies' which was a huge success.
Despite being a remake of a Taiwanese film, director Chayanop ensures that 'The Red Envelope' will have a fresh and different Thai touch. According to him, this film is not just an ordinary remake, but will offer a new experience that is closer to the culture and sense of humor of local audiences.
For international fans, there is no word yet on whether the film will be available on global streaming platforms or not. But given the popularity of Billkin and PP Krit, it is likely that the film will receive wide distribution after its theatrical release. So, get ready to laugh while watching 'The Red Envelope'!
