T.O.P has been away from BIGBANG for about 2 years, the boy group that has confirmed its name. However, on February 11, 2025, a rumor emerged in the online community stating that the owner of the real name Choi Seung Hyun would be rejoining G-Dragon and friends. However, these rumors have been immediately denied.

A representative of T.O.P stated to local media, "It is not true that T.O.P's name was added to T.O.P's official account. That is his real name. T.O.P's thoughts on returning to BIGBANG have not changed. It is the same position he stated during the interview."

Recently, a post was uploaded to an online community stating that T.O.P's name had just been added to BIGBANG's official YouTube account. Currently, BIGBANG only consists of three members, G-Dragon, Taeyang , and Daesung.

With TOP's name added, speculations have arisen that the man will rejoin BIGBANG and resume his activities. TOP recently uploaded a new profile photo on his account to announce his resumption of activities. It was reported that T.O.P added his BIGBANG stage name to his profile.

There were claims that T.O.P removed the name T.O.P from his profile after leaving BIGBANG and then added it back, but this has been confirmed to be false. In 2016, T.O.P was sentenced to 10 months in prison, suspended for 2 years, for smoking marijuana at his home.

Afterwards, T.O.P firmly responded to comments criticizing his crime by saying, "I have no plans to return to Korea" and announced his withdrawal from BIGBANG. However, T.O.P suddenly made a comeback with “Squid Game 2.” Last month, T.O.P sat down for an interview for the first time in 11 years.

He opened up about his time as actor Choi Seung Hyun and as BIGBANG’s T.O.P. In the interview that day, T.O.P revealed the process of leaving BIGBANG, saying, "As an individual, I have caused so much damage to the team called BIGBANG and my former agency (YG Entertainment) because of my mistakes."

"That's why I talked about leaving the team years ago because I couldn't cause more damage to my agency and the members. If I did something on my own, I would have to endure public criticism and take criticism alone, but if I returned to the team, the members would also be labeled, so I felt ashamed and it was very painful for me," he said.

When asked if T.O.P had contacted the BIGBANG members, the man said, "To be honest, I haven't contacted them at the moment. I don't remember exactly how long it's been, but I think my mind has calmed down a bit. I still feel very sorry, so I haven't been able to contact them.
