The controversy involving EXO's Xiumin and KBS television station is currently a hot topic among K-Pop fans. Xiumin, who is now under the management of INB100, was allegedly not allowed to appear on the music program Music Bank due to the relationship between KBS and his former agency, SM Entertainment.

However, KBS firmly denied the allegations. Reporting from Soompi on Wednesday March 5, 2025, on March 4, 2025, One Hundred Label, the parent company of INB100, issued an official statement revealing that they were having difficulty communicating with KBS regarding the promotion of Xiumin's latest album.

Xiumin is scheduled to release his second solo mini album, 'Interview X,' on March 10, 2025, marking his solo comeback after two years and six months. According to the statement, KBS allegedly unofficially informed the agency that Xiumin would not be able to appear on programs that also feature artists from SM Entertainment, including Music Bank.

One Hundred Label called the decision unfair and asked KBS to consider the interests of the artists and their fans. They also emphasized that such a policy could have a negative impact on artists who are no longer under SM Entertainment.

However, KBS quickly responded to these accusations and stated that the claims were baseless, as reported by Allkpop on Wednesday. They confirmed that the Music Bank production team has been in communication with Xiumin's agency and there is no prohibition on his appearance.

However, the debate on this issue is still growing among fans. The controversy sparked wider discussion about the challenges faced by artists who leave major agencies like SM Entertainment. A similar case happened to the group JYJ, which consists of former members of TVXQ!.

They also had difficulty appearing on music shows after leaving SM Entertainment. Xiumin himself debuted as a member of EXO under SM Entertainment in 2012. However, in 2023, he along with Baekhyun and Chen left the agency and joined INB100, a subsidiary of One Hundred Label.

Although there is no further clarity regarding the status of Xiumin's appearance on Music Bank, the agency emphasized that they will continue to try to find other opportunities for Xiumin to interact with his fans. Fans also hope that this situation can be resolved soon to support Xiumin's career as a solo artist.
