South Korean actress Lee Joo Bin shared her painful experience of being a victim of fraud, which ultimately led to legal action. The issue began when a criminal organization misused her personal identification photo to defraud numerous people.

She shared this story while guest-starring on Life84, a variety show hosted by webtoon artist and television personality Kian84. Lee admitted he didn't expect his ID photo to cause such a big problem.

According to Lee, the photo was repeatedly used in various fraudulent schemes, ranging from insurance fraud to investment scams. In one case, a used car dealer even used her photo without permission.

Other fraudsters also used her facial resemblance to commit financial crimes. The most serious case occurred when a perpetrator forged a national identity card by using Lee Joo Bin's photo and impersonating her.

As a result, Lee was summoned to court for questioning. "I was even contacted and asked, 'Were you involved in investment fraud?' by the court," said Lee Joo Bin, as reported by The Chosun Daily, on Thursday January 15, 2026.

Lee added that he initially considered this a positive thing because many people considered his face to be "kind and honest." However, similar incidents continued to recur. Hearing this story, Kian84 chimed in, "You seem very trustworthy.

I even feel like if you tried to sell me something, I would immediately believe it and buy it." Lee Joo Bin herself is known for her roles in the drama Queen of Tears and the film The Roundup: Punishment. She is also scheduled to return to acting in the drama Spring Fever in 2026.
