The court has decided to accept ADOR's request regarding NewJeans / NJZ's work schedule without their permission. This decision effectively states that Minji et al. cannot be involved in any work schedule while their exclusive contract with HYBE is in dispute.

NewJeans respected the court's decision, but they decided to still perform at ComplexCon Hong Kong on March 23, 2025 with a new song. After the performance, Hanni et al announced that they would be going on hiatus to respect the court's decision.

The announcement was delivered in the form of a letter that was read by NewJeans on stage. The members said, "It's hard to convey this news. Today's performance seems to be our last for a while." "We have decided to temporarily stop all activities in connection with the court's ruling.

It was not an easy decision, but we believe it is a necessary one," added Haerin et al. However, NewJeans promised to make a comeback soon. "We will return, no matter what, after taking some time off to calm down. We really want to greet you all with brighter smiles then," the members continued.

They also expressed their gratitude for the fans' support. "To every Bunny who has believed in us and supported us in everything, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you, and we love you so much. And we can't express how grateful we are because no matter what, we will meet again soon," added NewJeans.

Lastly, the members said, "We are always thankful and we love you. The five of us are always thinking about you. Please continue to take care of your health, eat your food, and get enough sleep. This is Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein. Thank you."

NewJeans' hiatus announcement was met with an unexpected response from netizens, who showed support for the group to resolve their issues and make a comeback. " I hope everything can be resolved well and they come back[sic!] ," wrote one netizen.

" I just hope a new song is released soon, whether it's under NewJeans or NJZ. They are my favorite band, so it's a shame they haven't been active for so long [sic!] ," said another netizen. " Let's resolve this issue well and keep promoting [sic!] ," added another.
