The oldest member of the boy group BTS was confirmed to be preparing to make a solo project comeback in the near future. As reported by Newsen on Monday April 14, 2025, BTS's Jin is planning to release a new album in May 2025.
BIGHIT MUSIC, as the agency that houses all BTS members, immediately responded to the news by confirming that the musician would be preparing to greet fans, often called ARMY, with new music. "Jin is currently preparing a new album with the target of releasing it in May 2025," said a source from BIGHIT MUSIC's agency.
Reported from the agency's latest upload, Jin BTS will release a new album titled Echo on May 16, 2025 at 1 pm KST or 11.00 WIB. Details regarding the number of songs to the tracklist have not yet been announced by BIGHIT MUSIC. The upcoming comeback will also mark Jin's return to releasing new works, after he last released a solo song about six months ago or in November 2024.
At that time, the musician born in 1992 released his solo debut album titled Happy. The Happy album contains six tracks opened by Running Wild as the main song, then continued with I'll Be There, Another Level, Falling, then Heart on the Window, until I Will Come to You as the last song.
Running Wild is the only full English song on the album. In the album, Jin also collaborated with Red Velvet's Wendy to duet on the song Heart on the Window. The solo album of the oldest member of BTS also managed to achieve various achievements by reaching number four on the Billboard 200 chart with the main song entitled Running Wild.
Jin also held a two-day showcase in South Korea to celebrate the release of the Happy album. Recently, Jin has been busy starring in a variety show called Kian's Bizarre B&B. In the show, which was also released on Netflix, the musician whose full name is Kim Seok-jin hosted the show together with Kian84 and Ji Ye Eun.
Since completing his military service in June last year, Jin has become a hot topic of conversation for holding a solo fan meeting to celebrate BTS's 11th anniversary. He was also chosen as a torchbearer for the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics, and has expanded his wings as a brand ambassador for global fashion brand Gucci.
Jin has also shown his charm as a star by releasing his own entertainment show titled Run Seok Jin which airs every Tuesday through BTS's official channel BANGTANTV. Not only Jin who is focusing on his solo career, another BTS member, J-Hope, has previously released the single Sweet Dreams (feat. Miguel) on March 7, 2025 and the single MONA LISA on the 21st of the same month.
Now he is busy with a solo world tour in several countries on various continents, including Indonesia in May. Meanwhile, other BTS members, such as Suga, RM, Jimin, V, and Jung-kook are still carrying out their respective military service which began in late 2023 and are planned to reunite as a group in June 2025.
News about BTS's comeback related to the release of new songs to the world tour has been widely discussed ahead of the return of other BTS members this year. However, BIGHIT MUSIC has not yet given certainty about the BTS group's comeback schedule that fans have been waiting for.
