BTS's Jin has been praised for his humanitarian action for victims of a forest fire in Andong, South Korea. The BTS member took to the field as a volunteer, helping to serve food to residents at an aid post.
Previously on Friday March 21, 2025, a forest fire occurred in South Korea that spread from Andong, Uiseong, Sancheong, to Ulsan. The incident caused 30 deaths, 45 injuries, more than 200 buildings burned down including a thousand-year-old temple.
Several Korean artists also donated to help victims of the forest fire. Jin's fellow BTS member, BTS's V donated 200 million won to victims of the forest fires through the Korean Red Cross. BTS's Suga donated 100 million won through the same humanitarian organization.
BTS's J-Hope and RM each donated 100 million won through Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association. Meanwhile, BTS's Jungkook donated 1 billion won through the humanitarian organization.
On Thursday April 3, 2025, BTS Jin was seen at the aid post set up at Gilan High School, Andong, South Korea. Although covering his identity with a hat and mask, BTS Jin's star aura still radiated. He was recognizable when distributing food to the victims of the forest fire who were going through a hard time.
In photos and videos circulating on social media, BTS's Jin is wearing a white shirt, a black cardigan that matches his hat, and a gray apron. The 'The Astronaut' singer is side by side with other volunteers while distributing food.
It is no surprise that BTS's Jin has garnered praise from Korean netizens and fans. His presence has given encouragement and hope to the victims of the forest fires. The owner of the real name Kim Seokjin is also reported to have said words of encouragement.
One of the Andong forest fire victims who met BTS's Jin at the relief post said, "I heard he was a famous artist, but to me, he seemed like a good and hardworking young man. Even among the other volunteers, he remained focused on distributing food without seeking attention."
