Reported from the Soompi page on April 5, 2025, the media reported that Lee Jae Wook will be the main actor in a drama titled ' Honeycomb Project ' (working title), which will air on Netflix. This news was first reported by a Korean media outlet, and shortly afterward confirmed directly by the actor's agency, Log Studio.

"It is true that Lee Jae Wook will be appearing in Netflix's new series titled Honeycomb Project," the agency said in an official statement. 'Honeycomb Project' is a fantasy horror drama that will tell the story of Byeon Hyeok Jun, a single man in his 30s who accepts a high-paying part-time job offer.

However, behind the lure of a big salary, the job actually became the starting point of a series of strange and unexpected events that changed his life. The story promises to present a tense and mysterious atmosphere, combined with strong fantasy elements, something quite different from Lee Jae Wook's previous projects.

The drama will be a collaboration between two talented directors. Han Jun Hee, who is known as the creator of famous projects such as the film 'Coin Locker Girl', the series 'DP', and 'Weak Hero', is trusted as the creator of the concept and story.

Meanwhile, the director position will be held by Kim Da Min, the figure behind the film 'Makgeolli Will Tell You'. The presence of these two names further increases public enthusiasm for this project, especially because of their track record in presenting stories with strong emotional nuances and distinctive visuals.

While preparing for the Honeycomb Project, Lee Jae Wook is currently appearing on tvN's variety show 'Fresh off the Sea 2'. This is a program that features the lives of celebrities as they live in a coastal village. They will participate in various marine and fishing activities, as well as prepare dishes from fresh local ingredients.

Lee Jae Wook joined the second season of the show along with Lim Ji Yeon as new cast members. The two replaced Ahn Eun Jin and Dex from the previous season.  Not satisfied with one project, Lee Jae Wook will also appear in the Netflix series 'Dear Hongrang' with Jo Bo Ah.

The series that carries the romantic historical genre is scheduled to air at the end of this year. The story is adapted from 'Tangeum: Swallowing Gold', the story centers on Hong Rang, the son of a wealthy merchant family who disappeared at the age of eight. Twelve years later, a man appears claiming to be Hong Rang, but with no memory of his past.

While his mother doubts the man's identity, his half-sister, Jae Yi (Jo Bo Ah), tries to uncover the truth behind this mystery. The drama is directed by Kim Hong Seon, who is known for his works such as 'Voice' and written by Kim Jin Ah, the writer of 'Dr. Brain'.

In addition to Lee Jae Wook and Jo Bo Ah, the cast also includes Jung Ga Ram as Mu Jin, Uhm Ji Won as Min Yeon Ui, Park Byung Eun as Shim Yeol Guk, and Kim Jae Wook as Prince Han Pyeong.  With its star-studded cast and mystery-filled story, Dear Hongrang is also one of the most anticipated dramas this year.
