Lee Dong-wook has attracted attention after allegedly mentioning the impeachment of South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol. On Friday April 4, 2025, the South Korean actor communicated with his fans through the paid platform Bubble.

Lee Dong Wook wrote, "Ah, spring has finally arrived. This winter has been too long. It was predicted to rain today, but it's actually very sunny. The weather is nice, so everyone should go out and have fun." Lee Dong Wook further wrote, “Enjoy your Friday night!”

Although, the actor did not directly mention the impeachment news, many speculated that his comment about “spring” may have been his way of expressing his thoughts on the Constitutional Court’s decision to impeach President Suk Yeol. This isn't the first time Lee Dong Wook has been involved in politics.

The actor previously showed his support for fans attending pro-impeachment rallies by sharing Girls' Generation's song "Into the New World." However, Lee Dong Wook's message, which allegedly touched on President Suk Yeol's impeachment, drew strong reactions on social media, especially from right-wing supporters.

They flooded Lee Dong Wook's Instagram with negative comments, accusing him of political bias. " Why are all the celebrities leaning left?[sic!] ," one netizen wrote. " You must be a Lee Jae Myung supporter[sic!] ," another added. " This must be the 'Dream' spring for communists[sic!] ," another netizen said.
