Girls' Generation's Seohyun announced her departure from Namoo Actors on Thursday April 24, 2025. The news came after the SNSD girl group member had been under Namoo Actors as an actress since 2019. This news has also been immediately confirmed by the agency.

Seohyun left the agency after both parties agreed to end the contract as an artist and agency. "Hello, this is Namoo Actors. After in-depth discussions, we have agreed to end our management relationship with actress Seohyun," Namoo Actors said as quoted by MBC via Naver on Thursday April 24, 2025.

"We are truly thankful for Seohyun who has grown into an amazing actress with trust over the years," the agency continued. The agency also expressed gratitude for the support from Seohyun's fans who have continued since her career as an actress.

Namoo Actors also promised to continue supporting the actress' career journey in the future after leaving. However, there is still no news about the new agency that will be Seohyun's next shelter. She will also continue to be active as a member of Girls' Generation outside of her activities as an actress.

"We send our sincere gratitude to the fans who continue to show love and support for him," the agency said. "Namoo Actors will continue to support Seohyun for all her future activities. Thank you," agency continued. Seohyun previously officially signed a partnership with Namoo Actors as an actress in March 2019 after leaving SM Entertainment.

The idol whose full name is Seo Ju-hyun entered Namoo Actors to start focusing on her acting career. Meanwhile, the idol also remains a member of Girls' Generation even though they are no longer under SM Entertainment since 2018. Seohyun is one of the actresses of Namoo Actors.

The agency has successfully housed various other hit South Korean actors, such as Park Eun-bin, Kim Hyo-jin, Lee Na-eun, Roh Jeung-eui, Song Kang, Lee Joon-gi, Kang Ki-young, and Oh Seung-hoon. The agency has also managed Ji Sung, Kim Tae-hee, Song Ji-hyo, Park Min-young, Nam Gyu-ri, and Jo Dong-hyuk.

Since joining Namoo Actors, Seohyun has starred in many hit dramas and films. Such as Private Lives (2020), Love and Leashes (2022), Jinxed at First (2022), Song of the Bandits (2023), and The First Night With the Duke which was released this year.

The drama The First Night with the Duke stars Seohyun and Taecyeon from boyband 2PM. This KBS-produced drama carries a unique and fresh story premise, namely the story of an ordinary college student, Cha Sun-chaek (SNSD's Seohyun), who is mysteriously trapped in the world of a romance novel set in the Joseon era.

In the novel, she wakes up as a supporting character who gets involved in a night full of surprises with the obsessive male lead, Lee Beon. Seon-chaek is described as a woman who only has one simple wish: to live in peace away from the chaos. However, everything changes when she accidentally spends the night with Lee Beon.

Lee Beon is a handsome prince who is known to be cold. Although talented in martial arts and admired by many people, Lee Beon has a closed heart due to bitter life experiences. His meeting with Cha Seon-chaek was a turning point that led them into a complicated relationship. The First Night with the Duke debuts on June 11, 2025.
