Choi Dae Hoon managed to steal the attention for his role in the drama "When Life Gives You Tangerines". The actor plays Bu Sang Gil, a man who was initially evil to Yang Gwan Sik's family (Park Bo Gum), but has changed for the better.

Choi Dae Hoon was invited to be a guest on the latest episode of "You Quiz on the Block" which aired on April 23, 2025. On that occasion, the actor shared emotional insights about his long journey in the entertainment industry.

Choi Dae Hoon also paid a touching tribute to his wife, Jang Yoon Seo, a former runner-up of Miss Korea 2006. The actor recalled a touching memory involving his wife, which was related to her character in "When Life Gives You Tangerines."

"I never asked her to compare me to any character, but one time when I was driving, she got a call and told the person, 'Of course my husband is driving. He's like Yang Gwan Sik.' I've never forgotten that," she said.

Choi Dae Hoon revealed that he almost gave up on being an actor. "I think maybe my parents didn't give me the DNA to quit. I kept doing it, even though it was slow, like pedaling a bicycle. I told myself, 'Just one more lap,'" he added.

When his wife was pregnant, Choi Dae Hoon asked for a raise for the first time in his life. "I asked if I could get paid 300,000 won more. That was the first time I asked for more money, because our baby was about to be born," he recalled.

As a husband and father, Choi Dae Hoon admitted that he once doubted whether he could afford to buy children's books for his daughter. "I saw a book for 18,000 won and panicked. When we got married, I only gave my wife 1 million won for living expenses," he said.

"Then I lied and said it was 1.5 million. He corrected me. I told him to wait 12 years. I don't like clear numbers like 10 years, so I made it 12," said the actor. Choi Dae Hoon shed tears as he shared, "She often told me, 'I'm so happy.' When I heard that, I was moved."

The actor then confessed to the judgment he felt when he married the glamorous Jang Yoon-seo in 2015. "Some people look at us and think, 'That guy?' I saw him. But I gritted my teeth and said to myself, 'I'm going to show them. I can do this.' I have to keep that fire of love burning to survive," he concluded.
