SM Entertainment agency said that RIIZE's Shotaro will temporarily limit his activities due to an ankle injury. SM Entertainment, the agency that manages RIIZE, informed that Shotaro recently suffered an ankle injury while performing at an event abroad.
"After undergoing a medical examination at the hospital, he was diagnosed with a torn ankle ligament," the agency said, as quoted in a Soompi broadcast on Thursday (May 7, 2026).
According to the agency, Shotaro is currently recovering and still receiving regular treatment. The agency stated that Shotaro will still attend upcoming scheduled events, but will not be dancing on stage.
Shotaro is scheduled to participate in the Incheon National University festival on May 8, 2026, the Japan Kstyle Party on May 10, and the Sogang University and Soongsil University festivals on May 14, 2026, but he will not be performing choreography on stage.
"This decision was made after discussions with Shotaro and based on medical advice stating that while he can still carry out daily activities, he should avoid intense dancing and prioritize rest and recovery," the agency said.
