Distributor Lotte Entertainment on June 11, 2025 released photos of Lee Min Ho's filming for the latest film 'Omniscient Reader: The Prophet'. With a charismatic gaze, the actor is ready to amaze the audience in his iconic role as Yoo Joong Hyuk.
'Omniscient Reader: The Prophet' is adapted from a popular novel that has been published for more than a decade. The film tells the story of a fictional world in the novel that suddenly becomes real after the novel ends.
Kim Dok Ja (played by Ahn Hyo Seop), an avid reader of the novel, is trapped in a world that has been destroyed and must survive with the novel's main character, Yoo Joong Hyuk, and his friends in an action-packed and fantasy adventure.
Lee Min Ho, who is known for his global dramas such as 'When the Stars Gossip', 'Pachinko' 1 & 2, 'The King: Eternal Monarch', 'Legend of the Blue Sea', and 'The Heirs', is back to captivate as Yoo Joong Hyuk, an irreplaceable character in the story.
Yoo Joong Hyuk is the protagonist of the fictional novel 'Three Ways to Survive in a Ruined World', who has the regression ability to restart his life every time he dies. With a strong presence and stunning visuals, Yoo Joong Hyuk is able to dominate every scene through explosive action and complex emotions.
Although his regression experience leaves him full of cynicism, his encounter with Kim Dok Ja at Dongho Bridge changes the storyline he knows, sparking new interests and conflicts.
In this film, the relationship between Yoo Joong Hyuk and Kim Dok Ja, who have admired the protagonist for more than 10 years, is the main highlight. When Kim Dok Ja reaches out to work together, Yoo Joong Hyuk, who has a hard time trusting others, tests Dok Ja's loyalty.
Their chemistry and how they shape the ending of the story is an attraction that the audience is looking forward to. In his interview, Lee Min Ho revealed, “I pondered a lot about the loneliness of a human being who lives forever.
Because Yoo Joong Hyuk is a character who continues to struggle, I also worked hard to prepare for the action scenes.” He added, “I wanted Yoo Joong Hyuk to feel real so that viewers could immerse themselves in this world and understand their struggles in the face of crisis.
I also thought about how to convey actions, expressions, and gazes so that they felt authentic without being over the top.” 'Omniscient Reader: The Prophet' is scheduled to air in July 2025.
