The 2026 American Music Awards (AMAs) were held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Monday (May 25) local time. HUNTR/X, the fictional group from the Netflix K-Pop film Demon Hunters, triumphed once again!
Following a string of major wins for Golden's song at the 2026 Grammys and Oscars, the AMAs have now awarded another trophy to EJAE, Rei Ami, and Audrey Nuna. Golden's song was chosen as Song of the Year by the 2026 American Music Awards.
A truly worthy choice. While other songs in the same category also went viral last year, Golden (and Netflix's promotional/marketing team) managed to make this song stand out. Golden beat Taylor Swift's The Fate of Ophelia and Sabrina Carpenter's Manchild.
Back to his friends, Sombr, who was also a hit last year, had to bow down to the fictional demon slayers of Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans. In addition to winning Song of the Year, Golden also won trophies in several other categories, including Best Pop Song and Best Soundtrack.
In the album category, the K-Pop OST for Demon Hunters outperformed the soundtracks for the films F1 and Wicked: For Good. Golden's win at the 2026 American Music Awards follows the announcement of the K-Pop Demon Hunters world tour. The concert is scheduled to take place soon, though Netflix has not shared many details yet.
But in its statement, Netflix promised a live experience. Meaning, there's a chance HUNTR/X and Saja Boys will perform live in front of their fans, who have been singing "Golden" and "Your Idol" nonstop throughout 2025.
"A live experience that will bring elements of the two-time Oscar-winning film to life in spectacular fashion," Netflix wrote in its announcement. The United States is clearly the primary target for the K-Pop Demon Hunters concert tour outside of South Korea.
Luminate data shows that throughout 2025, all songs and artists from the K-Pop Demon Hunters OST album were on the best-selling lists in terms of video and audio on-demand streaming. EJAE and HUNTR/X have combined to reach a total of 3.9 billion streams in the US alone.
Saja Boys singers Andrew Choi, Kevin Woo, SamUIL Lee, Danny Chung, and Neckwav also achieved impressive numbers, with a total of 5.7 billion streams. In South Korea, Luminate recorded HUNTR/X's "Golden" as the most-streamed track on demand last year, reaching 220 million streams by the end of 2025.
