BTS' Jungkook has once again captured the public's attention. After taking a social media break due to his mandatory military service, the musician officially created a new personal Instagram account with the username @mnijungkook on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.
Interestingly, the new account was immediately flooded with followers in less than 24 hours. According to Nathandca's monitoring at the time of writing, the @mnijungkook account already had 6.7 million followers, despite not having uploaded a single post or even a profile picture.
The @mnijungkook account is strongly suspected to belong to Jungkook because several other BTS members, such as Jin, Jimin, RM, V, and J-Hope, have been observed following the account back. This account is Jungkook's first personal Instagram account since he decided to delete his old official account, which had more than 54 million followers, in February 2023.
The singer of the hit "Seven" also directly conveyed to his fans the reason for deleting his personal Instagram account through the fan community application Weverse. "I've quit Instagram. Instagram wasn't hacked. I don't use it, so I just deleted it," Jungkook wrote.
Previously, Jungkook and Jimin officially completed their military service on June 11, 2025. Jungkook's move to re-create an Instagram account also gave a strong signal that in the near future he will return to music with BTS, who had decided to officially go on hiatus in 2022.
The phenomenon of a flood of followers in a short time is clear proof that Jungkook's charm as a musician has never faded despite his two-year hiatus. His comeback is now one of the most anticipated moments for millions of ARMYs around the world who want to see him perform again with BTS or continue his solo music projects.
