PENTAGON’s Hui will be taking a temporary break from his activities after sustaining a nasal bone fracture. Cube Entertainment, the group’s agency, announced on July 10, 2025 that Hui was injured during a ball challenge while filming for JTBC’s Let’s Play Soccer 4.
“Hui got a nasal bone fracture during a ball contest on Let’s Play Soccer 4 on July 9, 2025,” the statement read. “He was immediately taken to the hospital and has been advised to rest and recover.”
Hui will therefore be stepping back from all scheduled activities to focus on treatment and recovery. The agency apologized for the sudden news and thanked fans for their understanding, adding, “We’ll do everything we can to support Hui’s full recovery.”
Hui had previously impressed viewers on Let’s Play Soccer 4 with his athleticism, revealing that he ran track in elementary school and was even scouted by a soccer coach while playing with friends.
His standout performance on the show had gained praise, making the news of his injury especially disappointing for fans. Hui debuted in 2016 as the leader of PENTAGON and gained widespread recognition with the group’s 2018 hit “Shine.”
He’s also known for his songwriting and production skills, having composed “NEVER” and “Energetic” — both breakout songs from Produce 101 Season 2 and Wanna One’s debut, respectively. In addition to group activities, Hui has pursued solo projects and appeared in musicals, earning a loyal fan base across various fields.
