Xdinary Heroes' Jun Han issued a handwritten letter to apologize for the controversial statement he made on the fan communication platform, Bubble. The statement sparked strong criticism from the public because it was considered to contain biased views and racial stereotypes.

In a message sent on June 29, 2025, Jun Han brought up the topic of genetic research, saying, “I heard that black people have a lot of cells in their ears, so their hearing is good, and that’s why they’re good at music. I’m so jealous.”

"Is it possible to combine the advantages of different races, such as the extraordinary ability of white people to break down sugar, the physical ability of black people, and the intelligence of yellow people and Indians?"

This statement was criticized as being insensitive and reinforcing racial stereotypes. In response to the controversy, Jun Han immediately released a handwritten letter of apology which read:

"First of all, I sincerely apologize for causing many people pain and discomfort due to my thoughtless remarks. I realize that what I said contains biased views, and I am reflecting on this deeply.

Once again, I bow my head in apology to anyone who felt hurt or uncomfortable because of my lack of historical knowledge, social awareness, and sensitivity. Moving forward, I will continue to learn and grow so that I can act on accurate knowledge.

"In addition, I will take this incident as a lesson to be more careful in my every word and action, and to act with a greater sense of responsibility. Once again, I sincerely apologize." JYP Entertainment, the agency that houses Xdinary Heroes, also released an official statement:

"Hello, this is JYP Entertainment. We bow our heads and sincerely apologize to everyone who was hurt by the thoughtless remarks made by our artist, Xdinary Heroes member Jun Han, on a fan communication platform today.
