South Korean actor Song Young Kyu reportedly died on Monday August 4, 2025. The "Extreme Job" actor was found dead in a car in Cheoin-gu, Yongin, Gyeonggi Province. 

According to MBN reports, a friend who found Song Young Kyu in the car, reported his death to the Yongin East Police Station. The police are currently still investigating the cause of actor Song Young Kyu's death. 

Before his death, Song Young Kyu withdrew from the drama "Shakespear in Love." This decision stemmed from an alleged drunk driving conviction on June 19, 2025. Song Young Kyu is suspected of driving a car while drunk from Giheung-gu to Cheoin-gu for five kilometers.

His latest drama project, The Defect, also confirmed minimal changes to Song Young Kyu's scenes. Song Young Kyu began his acting career in 1994 with a musical. He then made his big screen debut in the 2004 film Mr. Hong. 

After that, Song Young Kyu appeared in many Korean films and dramas. Song Young Kyu's series of films include Hope, Pandora, Extreme Job, Tomb of the River, Toxic, The Desperate Chase, and Land of Happiness.
