Singer PSY's agency, P-Nation, issued an official statement on Thursday August 28, 2025, admitting to an error related to the alleged acquisition of psychotropic sleeping pills through a third party.

In a statement, the agency apologized for the oversight. "We acknowledge that the third party's taking of prescription sleeping pills was a clear error and a result of our negligence. We apologize," P-Nation said in its official statement.

However, the agency emphasized that PSY has been diagnosed with a chronic sleep disorder and is taking sleeping pills as prescribed by a doctor. "PSY is taking sleeping pills at the dosage prescribed by a medical professional, and no prescriptions were issued without proper procedures."

"However, during the process, there was a case where the drug was taken by a third party, and currently the police are conducting an investigation," explained P-Nation, emphasizing that there was no element of intent in this incident.

Previously, on Wednesday August 27, 2025, news broke that PSY and a professor from a university hospital who prescribed medication for him were reported for alleged violations of the Health Act.

According to reports, PSY is suspected of receiving a prescription for psychotropic drugs from a general hospital in Seoul without undergoing a face-to-face consultation, which is a violation of applicable regulations. According to regulations, psychotropic medications can only be prescribed after a direct consultation with a doctor.

The medication must also be collected directly by the patient, except in limited cases, such as by family members or registered caregivers. Police have reportedly secured PSY's medical records and are conducting an investigation to uncover the facts related to this case.
