THE BOYZ’s Hyunjae has suffered an ankle injury just days after the group’s comeback. His agency, ONE HUNDRED, released a statement announcing the news on Thursday July 31, 2025.
The agency stated that Hyunjae sustained an ankle injury while participating in a live content broadcast. He was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment. Medical staff diagnosed him with a partial rupture of his ankle ligament.
Hyunjae will still participate in the ‘Music Bank’ performance on, August 1, 2025, but will remain seated in a chair as per his doctor’s recommendation. The agency sincerely apologized to fans who were eagerly anticipating the group’s first comeback stage.
The statement promised, “We will prioritize the artist’s health and recovery when coordinating future activities.” The agency also pledged, “We will do our utmost to ensure he recovers as quickly as possible.”
This injury comes at a critical time for the group. THE BOYZ just made their comeback on July 28, 2025 with their 10th mini-album, a;effect. The title track, “Stylish,” is a hip-hop-based pop song distinguished by its addictive hook and distinctive sound.
Hyunjae’s unforeseen injury has put the group in a difficult position. They have various promotional activities planned, and their fourth world tour, “THE BLAZE”, is set to kick off on August 8, 2025 at Seoul’s KSPO DOME.
