BLACKPINK's Jisoo has finally spoken out about the controversy surrounding her acting skills that has been a topic of public discussion. On Thursday (February 26, 2026), a press conference for the new Netflix original series, 'Boyfriend on Demand,' was held at the JW Marriott Dongdaemun, Seoul.

The event was attended by lead actors Jisoo and Seo In Guk, as well as Director Kim Jung Shik. On that occasion, Jisoo openly responded to criticism regarding the quality of her acting in previous projects such as 'Snowdrop', 'Newtopia', and the film 'Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint'.

"Because each project gives me a different role, I've met and discussed a lot with the director so I can show a better side this time," Jisoo said calmly. Jisoo felt her role as Mirae, a webtoon producer who tries a virtual dating sim to escape reality, perfectly suited her personality and current age.

She described the role as "a perfect fit" for her. Jisoo hopes that viewers can see her progress and aspires to earn the title of "Rom-Com Queen" through this series. Director Kim Jung Shik also expressed his support, praising the actress' dedication. "Jisoo really worked hard.

Viewers will see not only her character growth in the drama, but also her development as an actress," he said. The series 'Boyfriend on Demand' is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on March 6, 2026. The drama promises a unique romantic comedy for those looking to live out their romantic fantasies amidst the stress of real life.
