The collaborative pop song by BLACKPINK's Rosé and Bruno Mars, " APT ." has successfully made history in the global music industry. Quoting from the Pinkvilla page on Friday (September 19, 2025) evening, "APT." has been viewed more than 2 billion times since its release on October 18, 2024.
This means it only took less than a year (334 days to be exact) to reach this fantastic number. With this achievement, "APT." became the fastest music video by a female lead artist to reach that milestone and the fastest overall.
It is also the only solo song by a BLACKPINK member to reach the milestone. Following Rosé's achievement, the fastest K-Pop artist music video to reach 2 billion views in YouTube history is now held by Rosé with "APT" which took 334 days.
Previously, PSY's "Gangnam Style" reached 2 billion views on YouTube in 684 days, BLACKPINK's "DDU-DU-DDU-DU" took about 1663 days, BLACKPINK's "Kill This Love" took 1975 days, and BTS's "Dynamite" took about 1840 days.
Through this, BLACKPINK has managed to place 2 of its songs in the 5 lists of music videos that have reached 2 billion views on YouTube, with a soloist reaching the top spot. A truly remarkable achievement!
With this, “APT.” by Rosé and Bruno Mars joins the popular songs “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi, “Shape of You” by Ed Sheeran and “Girls Like You” by Maroon 5 featuring Cardi B as the only music videos to reach 2 billion views on YouTube in less than a year after their release.
Additionally, "APT." is also the first and only song in history to reach 2 billion streams on the two largest music platforms (YouTube and Spotify) in less than a year, as quoted from the X page @chart_rose on Friday (September 19, 2025) evening.
To achieve this record, the music video on YouTube took 334 days, while the song on Spotify took 335 days. Recently, "APT." gave Rosé her first solo win at the prestigious 2025 MTV Video Music Awards in the Song of the Year category.
"APT." is also a frontrunner in the race for Grammy Awards, with many critics considering it a strong contender for major categories including collaboration and record of the year. If nominated and wins, Rosé will be the only member of BLACKPINK and the only female K-Pop soloist to achieve this.
