SEVENTEEN's Mingyu recently made a surprising confession while guesting on Jang Do Yeon's YouTube show, Salon Drip 2. The SEVENTEEN member revealed that he almost changed careers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

On that occasion, Mingyu explained that SEVENTEEN didn't have much to do outside the home during the COVID-19 pandemic. At the time, Mingyu even ordered study materials from the popular online learning platform , Eduwill, to pass the time.

"During COVID, we didn't go abroad, we just stayed at home. We quarantined every two weeks. I couldn't play games or watch TV at all, so I ordered Eduwill," said SEVENTEEN's Mingyu, quoted on Friday (September 26, 2025).

It was revealed that Mingyu was studying to become a real estate agent. Not only was he studying, but he was even preparing to take the exam to obtain his license as a real estate agent. Mingyu then revealed why he was interested in studying to become a real estate agent.

He admitted he wanted to be able to utilize his money, particularly by investing in property. "I was studying to get my real estate agent license. At the time, I was interested in investing, and I had to use my own money.

Even though I could give it to someone else (for investment), I felt like I needed to understand the terminology, so I started studying," Mingyu explained. In addition to studying independently, Mingyu also attended online classes to prepare for the real estate agent licensing exam.

Although Mingyu ultimately didn't take the exam, he now has a wealth of knowledge about the real estate industry.  After the pandemic is over, SEVENTEEN can now return to their idol activities and meet fans in various places.

Mingyu himself is currently preparing to release a mini-album with fellow SEVENTEEN member S.Coups. Their album, titled HYPE VIBES, is scheduled for release on Monday September 29, 2025.
