Actor Im Siwan is returning to his early career as a singer. He has been revealed to be preparing his first solo album in 25 years. On Monday, October 13, 2025, the Mantis star announced that he had been without an agency since last August 2025.
However, he is working on his solo album with SM Entertainment. On the same day, SM Entertainment responded with “One of our labels is preparing Siwan’s solo album. "We are currently coordinating regarding the release schedule," he said.
Siwan's collaboration with SM Entertainment is quite interesting considering that he debuted as a member of the group ZE:A from the Star Empire agency in 2010. After his group's disbandment, Siwan began focusing on acting, shedding his idol-actor image due to his acclaimed acting.
He starred in various films and dramas, including Misaeng, Run On, and Squid Game 2. The actor has also contributed his voice to several Korean drama soundtracks such as Misaeng, The King Loves, Tracer, and Boyhood .
Besides that, he also appeared at award shows and fan meetings which built up expectations for his solo performances. This is Im Siwan's first musical work since his career as a soloist.
