South Korean actor Jung Sung Il announced his divorce from his wife after nine years of marriage. He chose to end his marriage with his non-celebrity wife.
The news of the separation was announced by Jung Sung Il's agency, XYZ Studio. They stated, "After careful consideration, Jung Sung Il and his wife have decided to end their marriage."
"This decision was made by consensus without pointing out who was at fault between the two," he said. The (XYZ Studio) agency also emphasized that even though the two are divorced, they will communicate and continue to raise their children together.
“Although their relationship is legally over, they continue to support each other's progress and are doing their best to raise their child,” the agency said. Jung Sung Il married in 2016 and has one child. Debuting in 2002, he grew up on the theater and musical stage.
During an appearance on a show two years ago, Jung Sung Il recounted the moment he met his wife through a mutual friend. They were separated for three years, connecting through email, but when they met again after eight years, he asked her to marry him.
He also openly talked about his marriage to his wife on various occasions, so the news of the divorce shocked the public. Jung Sung Il gained public attention after starring in the series The Glory in 2023. He will return to acting through the series Made in Korea.
