Jun Ji Hyun Reveals Why She Never Uses Social Media

Jun Ji Hyun, recently revealed why she never uses social media. In an interview to promote her latest film, Colony, Jun revealed her fear of making mistakes and feeling uncomfortable opening up about her life to the public.

In a report published by Koreaboo, Jun explained that while many celebrities are active on social media platforms like YouTube and Instagram, she still chooses not to get involved. 

The South Korean actress, who began her modeling career in 1997, will celebrate her 30th anniversary in the entertainment industry next year. She revealed, "It's because I'm afraid of making mistakes. 

That's one simple reason." Jun continued, "Maybe because I've been active since I was young, I'm not used to showing myself and I don't feel comfortable doing it," as reported by spotvnews. 

Jun also acknowledged that celebrity culture has changed in recent years, with many artists becoming more open and accessible to fans through social media content. "I know times have changed, and my friends are probably used to it, but I don't feel comfortable.

I don't think there's a need to feel comfortable," she added. She explained that some friends are okay with showing their personal side, but others are uncomfortable. 

When asked if he ever considered starting a YouTube channel like many other celebrities, Jun admitted to a lack of confidence. "I lacked confidence. I just wanted to keep doing what I'm good at," she said. 

Jun also spoke openly about the pressure he felt when discussing his personal life in public events and interviews. "Honestly, I'm not comfortable talking about myself," she explained. 

"People might be curious, because it's been a while since I've been on the show, and I haven't had many opportunities to share my story. But I'm here to promote my work, so I don't think it's right to focus on myself."

Meanwhile, Jun's new film, Colony, follows a group of survivors isolated inside a building infected by a mysterious virus. This  film marks another major project for Jun in her decades-long acting career.
