BigHit Music is taking legal action against the dangerous actions of obsessive fans (sasaengs) who violated the privacy and threatened the safety of the South Korean boy group, CORTIS.
According to the Korea Times broadcast, on Monday (June 30, 2026), BigHit Music through the fan platform Weverse announced that it had taken action on several incidents of intrusion into private areas, including the parking lot at CORTIS' residence.
Other incidents included attempts to approach members by posing as event staff or official personnel, following them to locations related to unpublished schedules, and approaching members while they were resting in airport lounges or on planes.
The agency also discovered what it considered very serious and unlawful conduct during a recent CORTIS schedule in Paris. In the incident, a small GPS tracking device was found attached to the vehicle used by the members.
Other alleged violations include renting cars and using local drivers to continuously track the members' movements, including during personal activities and undisclosed schedules. BigHit Music has issued warnings regarding these incidents.
The agency also emphasized that it will consider all available legal measures if any party violates fan ethics by engaging in verbal or physical violence against security or operational staff, or spreading false information that distorts legitimate actions taken to protect the artists.
"We have identified various posts and comments on online platforms that violate artists' rights. Recent reports include content containing insults and harassment, the spread of false information about artists and their album and song performances, and manipulated images that are demeaning or sexually harassing," BigHit Music said.
The agency also revealed that it had gathered evidence against a number of accounts suspected of illegally selling international flight booking information for artists through social media and other online platforms.
"We filed a report last May, and an investigation is currently underway. Both the sale and purchase of celebrity flight information are illegal acts that may violate the Personal Information Protection Act and the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection," he added.
BigHit Music affirms that it will continue to prioritize the safety and privacy of its members and will take firm action against any future violations of fan ethics.
CORTIS is a boy group consisting of Martin, James, Juhoon, Seonghyeon, and Keonho that debuted in August of last year. The group has steadily built a growing fan base with songs like "GO!", "REDRED," and "YOUNGCREATORCREW."
