CIX's Hyunsuk, has officially joined the cast of the drama 'Study Group 2' as Ji Young Hyun, the main antagonist in the story. This announcement was made on July 13, 2026, when MyDaily reported that Hyunsuk had begun filming for the drama.
TVING later confirmed the news the following day, stating, “It is true that Hyunsuk will be appearing on ‘Study Group 2.’ He is currently in the process of filming.” 'Study Group' itself is an adaptation of the popular webtoon of the same name.
This drama tells the story of Youn Ga Min, played by Hwang Minhyun, a student who dreams of academic success but is only talented in fighting. In a school environment known as one of the worst in the world, Ga Min forms a study group and plunges into the challenging world of college entrance competitions.
This drama has ranked in the Top 5 in over 140 regions on Viki, proving its global success. Hyunsuk debuted as a member of CIX in 2019 before starting his acting career in 2021. After recently signing with Management Run, he is further expanding his acting portfolio.
