South Korean actress Song Hye Kyo has once again stolen the public's attention after an old video clip showing her discussing her unreleased childhood photos resurfaced online.
The video is a recording of her appearance on the VIVO TV YouTube channel, where she shared a lighthearted story with two comedians, Song Eun Yi and Kim Sook. In the conversation, Song Hye Kyo revealed that Song Eun Yi introduced her to alcohol as an adult.
“Once I graduated and turned 20, he said, ‘Try a beer,’” Song Hye Kyo recalled. The conversation then turned to Song Hye Kyo's childhood appearance. When asked if she was aware of her beauty as a child, she explained that she used to be very thin.
However, when she was in first or second grade, her mother gave her herbal medicine to increase her appetite. “My mother gave me herbal medicine that made me eat well, so I suddenly gained weight,” she said.
Song Hye Kyo then recalled a neighbor jokingly remarking to her mother, “She used to be so beautiful, but you really ruined your daughter’s looks.” The actress explained that she looks very different in photos from that period.
"When I look at the photos, I'm really chubby. You can't really see my facial features," she said. Kim Sook then asked if the childhood photos were available online.
Song Hye Kyo firmly replied that they would not be released. “The photos are at home, but I won’t release them,” Song Hye Kyo said, before adding that she could show the photos privately.
Her answer further piqued viewers' curiosity, with many admitting they had a hard time imagining Song Hye Kyo looking so different as a child. Some also noted that the photos were from her childhood and praised the actress for openly sharing such amusing memories.
