TWICE's Jihyo Opens up About Her Future at JYP Entertainment

The TWICE members are currently in the process of renewing their contracts with JYP Entertainment. There are many issues surrounding the members' futures at the agency, including Jihyo, who has been with JYP for 20 years. 

There were rumors that Jihyo was planning to leave JYP and establish an independent label. This news became a hot topic among fans, and the "I Can't Stop Me (2020) singer responded directly. 

Through the Bubble platform, Jihyo responded to the fandom outcry, though she didn't directly address her future at JYP. She felt responsible and had to speak directly. "I was a bit worried and hesitant before talking to ONCE directly. 

I'll take care of everything as quickly as I can, so you won't have to wait too long to hear from me," Jihyo said on Bubble on Tuesday (July 28, 2026), as reported by Korea JoongAng Daily on Wednesday (July 29, 2026). 

Jihyo also briefly shared her plans for the future, mentioning how, as a human, she experiences many changes in life and must make wise decisions. 

She also showed vulnerability, though she was confident that ONCE would continue to give her full support and trust throughout her journey. Jihyo also emphasized her love for TWICE. So, whatever her decision, she indicated she would remain in the group. 

The future of TWICE members at JYP is currently under intense scrutiny. Numerous local South Korean media reports indicate that several members are considering alternative management options. 

Before Jihyo, Tzuyu was reportedly ready to leave JYP. Jeongyeon, on the other hand, is also exploring a deal with VARO Entertainment, the management company of her older sister Gong Seung Yeon. 

Now, local media reports that Jihyo is currently in the process of establishing her own label, a major decision she will make after spending 20 years with JYP since her trainee days.

However, this has not been officially confirmed or announced. JYP Entertainment also issued a similar statement regarding the members' contracts: everything will be updated once a final decision is made.
