Tzuyu reportedly won't be renewing her contract with JYP Entertainment. However, she is committed to continuing her activities with TWICE even if they end up at a different agency. This was reported by several local South Korean media outlets, including Daily Kyungjae and News1, on Tuesday (July 14, 2026).

JYP Entertainment management immediately spoke out about the matter. JYP confirmed that the TWICE members are entering contract renewal discussions this year. However, no final decision has been made regarding which members will stay with the agency and which will leave.

"TWICE is currently in the midst of discussing contract renewals, and we will inform everyone once a final decision on this matter is made," the management stated firmly. Tzuyu isn't the first TWICE member to be suspected of leaving JYP Entertainment. Jeongyeon was also swept up in similar rumors at the end of June 2026.

At the time, Ilgan Sports and Hankuk Kyeongjae reported that Jeongyeon was courting VARO Entertainment, the agency that manages her older sister, Gong Seung Yeon. "It's true that we recently had a meeting with Jeongyeon. But nothing has been decided yet," said a VARO Entertainment representative at the time.

JYP Entertainment responded to Jeongyeon's concerns with similar words to those they used in response to Tzuyu's contract issues, but emphasized that the management would respect the members' wishes. The nine members of TWICE renewed their contracts with JYP Entertainment in 2022.

The contracts are for three to four years and will expire soon. TWICE debuted with the formation of Nayeon, Jihyo, Dahyun, Momo, Mina, Tzuyu, Jeongyeon, Sana, and Chaeyoung in 2015. The girl group is still active after a decade and is the most respected K-Pop senior of its generation. They recently completed their THIS IS FOR world tour.
