Infinix has launched a new affordable smartphone in India dubbed the Infinix Smart 5. It is a direct successor to the Infinix Smart 4 launched last year. The new smartphone is essentially a refreshed version of the Infinix Hot 10 Play for the Indian market.
The Infinix Smart 5 features a 6.8-inch HD+ IPS LCD panel with peak brightness of 400 nits. Its is interrupted by a waterdrop-style notch that houses the phone’s 8MP selfie camera. On the camera side of things, we get a fairly barebones dual-camera configuration with one 13MP primary lens and a depth sensor.
Under the hood, we get a MediaTek Helio G25 chipset, which consists of four ARM Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2.0GHz, four Cortex-A53 cores at 1.5GHz, and an IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU. The Infinix Smart 5 is powered by a 6,000mAh battery that supports fast charging at 10W.
The Infinix Smart 5 will run Android 10 Go customised with XOS 7 on top. The smartphone will come in four colour variants, namely Obsidian Black, Aegean Blue, Morandi Green, and Purple.
Other specifications and features on the smartphone include a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, Bluetooth, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
The Infinix Smart 5 will be available for purchase in India on February 18th via Flipkart. It is priced at Rs 7,199 for the sole 2GB RAM and 32GB storage configuration. That price is valid for a limited time only, after which the smartphone will cost Rs 8,999.
