Google's lineup of truly wireless earbuds has received a new member called Pixel Buds Pro. These were announced at Google I/O 2022 and will join the Pixel Buds and affordable Pixel Buds A. The latest offering is the most expensive earbuds that the company has released so far which also explains the "Pro" in the name.
The biggest addition to Pixel Buds Pro is support for active noise cancelation (ANC). This is the first time Google is offering this functionality with its earbuds. The feature is powered by a custom 6-core audio chip that runs Google-developed algorithms. It also features Silent Seal where the earbuds' seal adapts to the user's ears. This will ensure that the maximum possible amount of noise is getting canceled and users get to listen clearly.
Google says the buds have in-built sensors for measuring the pressure in the ear canal. This will result in a comfortable listening experience even after hours of continuous usage. Volume EQ will automatically adjust depending on the volume level so that highs, mids, and lows are always balanced. The team will add spatial audio support later this year.
Another interesting feature is support for Multipoint connectivity. It means you can connect Pixel Buds Pro to multiple devices and it will automatically switch across those paired devices. The feature supports smartphones, TVs, laptops, tablets, and even iOS devices. It further has Google Assistant integration so that you can quickly trigger the virtual assistant and get things done.
These are claimed to last for up to 11 hours on a single charge and up to 7 hours with ANC enabled. It features an IPX4 rating for the earbuds and an IPX2 rating for the charging case. The Google Pixel Buds Pro will cost you $199 once they go on pre-orders starting July 21st. There are four color options Lemongrass, Coral, Fog, and Charcoal.
