Vivo has expanded its Y-series in China. The series includes a new mid-range smartphone called Vivo Y72t which comes with an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC. Other notable features are 8GB of RAM, a 50MP dual rear camera setup, and a gigantic 6,000mAh battery with 18W charging support. The handset is a rebranded version of the Vivo Y55s 5G which was launched last year in December month in China.
The Vivo Y72t offers a 6.58-inch LCD display with Full-HD+ (1080 x 2400 pixels) resolution. The display also features a 20:9 aspect ratio, 401ppi pixel density, 92% screen-to-body ratio, and 60Hz refresh rate. Besides, the smartphone measures 163.87 x 75.33 x 9.17mm and weighs 200 grams. On the software front, it provides OriginOS 1.0 based on Android 11 out of the box. The handset comes with a waterdrop notch on the front penal for the selfie camera.
Under the hood, the Vivo Y72t brings an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC clubbed with Mali G52 MC2 GPU. The smartphone has offered 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. In the camera department, it has arrived with a dual-camera module on the backside that houses a 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP macro sensor. On the front side, it has an 8MP camera for selfies and video calling.
The Vivo Y72t is equipped with a massive 6,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging technology. The device also has a USB Type-C port to connect the charger. The dual-SIM supporting smartphone comes with 5G connectivity. The handset includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. In terms of connectivity, it includes 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.1, GPS, NFC, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
For official pricing and availability, the Vivo Y72t comes in two variants – 8GB with 128GB storage and 8GB with 256GB storage, which have been priced at CNY 1,399 (approximately Rs. 16,300) and CNY 1,599 (approximately Rs. 18,600) respectively. It comes in three color options – Deep Sea Black, Blue Sea, and Interstellar Powder (pink gradient). The smartphone will be available for pre-order from (May 23).
