Lee Seung Gi follows a row of South Korean actors and idols who have tested positive for COVID-19. Hook Entertainment, as management, confirmed that the actor was exposed to the virus. In a released statement, Lee Seung Gi tested positive for COVID-19 while undergoing a rapid test for filming purposes. He immediately postponed all scheduled activities.

"Lee Seung Gi was tested rapidly before undergoing advertising shoots. After the results were found to be positive, he immediately canceled all activities. After that, he immediately underwent a PCR test and tested positive for COVID-19," said Hook Entertainment. "He is currently undergoing self-isolation. Lee Seung Gi will follow the directions of the medical team," he continued. 

Shortly after the news was reported, Lee Seung Gi immediately greeted fans through his Instagram account. He gave an update to fans about his condition by uploading photos when he was little. "How did the article get published so quickly?  Because many people were worried and contacted me, I only felt symptoms like a mild flu, so I don't have to worry too much," explained Lee Seung Gi. 

"I will get well soon and greet you in a healthier state. Thank you all for worrying about me," he concluded. Earlier on the same day, a number of K-Pop idols also tested positive for COVID-19. BTOB's Eunkwang and ATEEZ's San tested positive for COVID-19 on February 15, 2022 at almost the same time. 

Both immediately underwent self-quarantine in accordance with the directions of the medical team. Both also decided to postpone the schedule of activities. In addition, V BTS also tested positive for COVID-19 that night. According to BIGHIT Music, the owner of the real name Kim Tae Hyung felt mild symptoms such as fever and sore throat.
