Yoo Ah In is back with Netflix's film, Seoul Vibe. Through this film, the audience will be invited back to the 80s which was thick with hip-hop music and flashy dress styles. Directed by Moon Hyun Sung, Seoul Vibe tells the story of a group of automotive enthusiasts who want to realize the American dream ahead of the 1988 Seoul Olympics.

An offer that is difficult to refuse from a prosecutor makes a group of drivers and mechanics who are members of the Sanggye-dong Team forced to raise illicit funds to disarm the secret of a mysterious character named Ms. Kang. Unexpectedly they become famous and in fact face great danger, which requires them to tinker with their flagship car in order to produce the best vehicle to crush crime to the end.

In a recent press conference, Seoul Vibe promised an exciting spectacle. This film will also bring the audience nostalgic through songs to retro elements attached. "Seoul Vibe is a film that is fun and doesn't make the audience think much. This film does not carry a deep message to the audience, but shows some historical elements that happened that year," said Yoo Ah In as the main character named Dong Wook.

"Dong Wook is a person who is obsessed with his appearance. He is very different from me in the real world. Dong Wook also has a kind of fantasy about western culture and is interested in it," he continued. Through Seoul Vibe, Moon Hyun Sung also introduced a new fun concept called 'newtro'. The combination of the word 'new' with 'retro' brings a concept of past trends mixed with a fresh interpretation.

"So instead of trying to get a fashion style from that era, I chose retro clothing styles that are popular nowadays and made some minor changes to the outfits," explained the director. "We changed a few buttons and added ribbons to the shoulder pads. I also matched their clothes with lacy gloves," she concluded. Seoul Vibe can be watched on Netflix starting today, Friday August 26, 2022.
