BTS's V, whose real name is Kim Taehyung, was reportedly involved in a minor car accident in the United States (US) after a concert. This news has sparked a huge reaction of concern from fans around the world.
BTS is currently in the US to continue their world tour, the ARIRANG Tour, for the Americas. The day before, on August 2, 2026, they held a concert in East Rutherford, New Jersey, which was a huge success.
The concerns stemmed from a video that went viral on social media. In the video, a fan claimed that V was involved in a minor car accident while in the US. The accident rendered his car inoperable, forcing him to walk the rest of the way to his hotel.
"Ams after the concert, the car Tae was in had an accident with another car, so he was forced to get off and finish the rest of the journey to the hotel on foot," wrote the account @mnimoniiii, which then went viral on platform X (Twitter).
Despite the lack of further corroborating evidence, this news has sparked deep concern and sadness among netizens. Many are worried about their idol's condition, but many are also grateful that V appears to be safe.
"Reports say that Kim Taehyung (V) was involved in a minor car accident after yesterday's concert. It was said that his vehicle was rear-ended by another car near his hotel, and he was walking towards the hotel.
Thankfully, he is safe and uninjured," wrote the account @MoonJinnie41292, who also spread the news. Fans' concerns grew as the news spread. Many said they had just learned about the incident and were immediately anxious.
"Is this true? Why am I just finding out? May God protect my baby from bad things, amen," wrote the account @ysrkthv with a teary emoji. Meanwhile, the account @vxthv7 also expressed their gratitude and emotion. "Thank God Taehyung is safe.
Turns out the news was true! The car he was in was rear-ended on his way home from the concert, but thankfully he's fine. He didn't tell us anything. He was very private and never shared the hard things he was going through!" he wrote.
The account @kvstrawcigs also added, "Taehyung was reportedly involved in a minor car accident after yesterday's concert when another vehicle rear-ended the car he was in near his hotel. Thankfully, he was not seriously injured and was able to walk back to the hotel on his own.
It must have been a very scary experience..." To date, there has been no official statement from BigHit Music or BTS regarding the accident. However, fans continue to pray for V's safety and health during his world tour.
This incident certainly serves as a reminder of how busy BTS's world tour schedule is. Nevertheless, ARMYs hope that V and the other members will always be protected and in good health amidst their busy schedules.
