The Golden Spoon is a drama-thriller TV series directed by Song Hyun-wook and starring Yook Sung-jae, Lee Jong-won, Jung Chae-yeon, Yeon Woo and Choi Dae-chul, with members other cast. The series takes over the Friday-Saturday 10 p.m. KST time slot, previously occupied by Big Mouth. The series is based on the webcomic Geumsujeo by gp04fb on Naver. Lee Seung-cheon is a poor student whose family can't afford to pay much.
Tired of not being able to enjoy life's pleasures, Seung-cheon meets a mysterious old woman who gives him a mysterious golden spoon. He could use a spoon to exchange lives with others, but he only got three chances to make up his mind. The Golden Spoon episode 4 shows Seung-cheon's doubts about Oh Yeon-jin but soon discovers that the message is a joke played by Jang-gun. Then he found out that his father had started to change and was frustrated by this delayed change. Later, Tae-yong finds the memory of the golden spoon and visits Hwang's house in search of the spoon. On the other hand, Seung-cheon finds out about Tae-yong's past.
Young-shin notices that "Seung-cheon's" habits are similar to Tae-yong's and he hesitates. Seung-cheon rushes home and stops Tae-yong from picking up the spoon. Tae-yong then has a panic attack after hooking up with Hyun-do but is saved by Lee Chul. The next day, it is revealed that Yeon-jin is actually Ju-hee's dead friend Jeong Na-ra and also the one who filmed Tae-yong and Seung-cheon's fight the other day.
Elsewhere, Yong-shin's brother, Seo Joon-tae, arrives and threatens Seung-cheon who makes him run to his house, only to watch his family having fun with Tae-yong. The next day Tae-yong questions Seung-cheon's intentions about giving his family an apartment and the conversation soon leads to the importance of money over family. Tae-yong denies that money can't be as important as his family, but is soon interrupted by Ju-hee who comes with his phone.
Lee Chul had an accident and was taken to the ER, which shocked the two boys as they ran to the hospital. A frantic Seung-cheon forgets all about life swapping and frantically searches for his father; called him “Father: as soon as he saw it. This is witnessed by Hyun-do. The episode then ends with a story about how Jeong Na-ra swapped lives with the real Oh Yeon-jin to escape from her cruel father.
