Yoo Ah In appeared before the public after a long time. Today, Monday March 27, 2023, he fulfilled a police summons regarding a drug case. This is the first time Yoo Ah In has been seen publicly after 50 days of investigation. According to Dispatch's report, the actor attended the Seoul Police Station in a black suit with his head down.
The summons should have been held on Tuesday March 24, 2023. However, the Seoul Police Department decided to postpone the summons after the media crew found out that Yoo Ah In was going to face the police. Over the past 50 days, the police have tried to find evidence related to Yoo Ah In's drug case. Two of his cell phones were confiscated.
Police also analyzed eight years of conversations on his cell phone. Furthermore, the forensic team is reported to have searched the house and clinic where Yoo Ah In used propofol. Clinic staff, agency staff, and a number of his acquaintances were summoned by the police to testify. The police plan to complete Yoo Ah In's investigation in today's summons.
Although evidence of propofol abuse can be proven easily, the court needs specific evidence to charge Yoo Ah In with criminal drug use charges. Now Yoo Ah In regrets his actions. According to his lawyers, "he knows what he did wrong and reflects on it." The 36-year-old actor is also "sorry although no words can make amends."
Yoo Ah In promised to tell the truth during the trial and undergo the entire investigation. Previously Yoo Ah In tested positive for using marijuana, propofol, cocaine, ketamine, and one other type of drug. The impact of Yoo Ah In's drug scandal caused him to be kicked out of the cast of the Korean drama Hellbound. The actor will not be starring in the second season and will be replaced by Kim Sung Cheol.
