Exactly one year after making their debut on May 2 2022, the girl group LE SSERAFIM has successfully won a number of amazing achievements. Quoting from Soompi on Wednesday May 10, 2023, LE SSERAFIM has just made a comeback through their first full album titled ' UNFORGIVEN ' which was released on May 1, 2023.
One day after the release of the album, namely on May 2 2023, 'UNFORGIVEN' successfully became the album with the highest first-day sales for a K-Pop girl group in history, after they managed to sell more than 1 million copies of the album in just one day. However, this record has now been broken by aespa who just released their third mini album titled 'My World' on May 8, 2023.
Even so, the album 'UNFORGIVEN' recorded an amazing achievement for the album's first week sales. Hanteo reports that the album has sold 1,258,001 copies in just one week (for the period May 2-8, 2023). With this record, LE SSERAFIM managed to sell twice the first week sales of their previous album.
Previously, LE SSERAFIM's second mini album titled 'ANTIFRAGILE' which was released in October last year successfully sold 567,673 copies in one week. With this achievement, LE SSERAFIM is now the girl group with the 3rd highest first-week album sales in Hanteo's history through the album 'UNFORGIVEN'.
This feat was previously only achieved by BLACKPINK's 'Born Pink' album and aespa recently with their third mini album 'My World'. Apart from the album 'UNFORGIVEN', there were only five albums from girl groups that broke one million copies in sales in one week. Namely 'Girls' from aespa, BLACKPINK's 'Born Pink', 'I've IVE' from IVE, and aespa with 'My World'.
Apart from that, LE SSERAFIM now also holds the record as the fastest girl group to win the million seller title with an album since their debut. LE SSERAFIM managed to achieve this feat just before they celebrated their one year debut on 2 May 2022. Congratulations once again to LE SSERAFIM.
