The film 'The Revenant' is back at Trans TV Cinemas. This Oscar-winning film will be shown on Tuesday May 30, 2023, at 21.45 WIB to be precise. Released in 2015, The Revenant' was directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu who has previously won two Oscars.
Alejandro G. Iñárritu won another Oscar thanks to 'The Revenant' for the best director category at the 88th Academy Awards in 2016. This film became the winner of the most Oscar nominations, with 12 categories. Not only that, the main star, Leonardo DiCaprio, later won his first Oscar through this film after being nominated three times as the best main actor.
Tom Hardy, who starred opposite Leonardo, also won his first Oscar nomination for best supporting actor. DiCaprio plays Glass, an experienced hunter who becomes a guide on an expedition led by Andrew Henry (Domnhall Gleeson). John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy), a member of the team, is fed up with how complicated their expedition.
Not only is the terrain tough, they also have to deal with the natives who hate them half to death. In the forest, Glass is attacked by a bear which eventually kills him. The physical injuries were too heavy. Andrew Henry ordered his crew to look after Glass who didn't seem like he would live.
Fitzgerald accepted the offer considering that the dollars given were very tempting. What happened, Fitzgerald let Glass buried alive to save energy. When Fitzgerald kills Hawk (Forrest Goodluck), Glass' son who is his most valuable treasure, Glass has no other choice to survive and avenge him.
There are so many tales of revenge. Tarantino has spent half of his career telling stories about people hunting for their lives. 'The Revenant' is not what you think. Set in 1823, this film invites us to go on an adventure and witness how hard human life was at that time.
Iñárritu doesn't even need to give a statement about the hostilities between the natives and the "colonizers" to describe how harsh life was at that time. The script written by Iñárritu and Mark L.
