A number of South Korean netizens expressed their protest at YG Entertainment, due to the lack of promotion for the boy group TREASURE in the country. Quoting from Koreaboo on Tuesday May 9, 2023, one of the online community users started a topic entitled 'Boy groups questioned by fans when they will promote in South Korea' went viral in no time.
The post apparently discussed the promotion of the boy group TREASURE which was considered lacking in South Korea, because they were more focused on promoting overseas. In this post, one netizen wrote details about the Asia TREASURE tour, which starts from November 2022 to January 31, 2023.
They had domestic schedules in February, and from March to May they carried out their Asian tour as well as fan meetings in Japan. In June, TREASURE will be in Korea before returning to Japan in July and August. Recently, TREASURE announced their schedule for September, which is mostly filled with fanmeeting activities in Japan.
Of course, this made local TREASURE fans in Korea jealous because of their lack of activities with domestic fans. Some netizens also revealed that YG Entertainment was incompetent in managing their boy group's schedule and squandered TREASURE's potential. " If a group is popular in Korea, they will automatically be popular in Japan too.
Doing all promotions in Japan will not make them immediately popular there ," said one netizen. " TREASURE isn't even the most popular fourth-generation group in Japan.
