After a long wait by BLINK, BLACKPINK's Jisoo finally officially made her solo debut on Friday March 31, 2023. Jisoo's solo debut titled 'ME' comes with two song projects. Finally, the project has been released after its first poster on March 5 which shocked BLINK.
This was followed by the film's visuals released on March 15 and March 21, 2023 a poster with ME's track listing and track credits on March 27, and a music video teaser for the lead single "Flower" uploaded on March 28, 2023. ME billboard.com's first song, "Flower," was a smooth, but powerful, sonic rollercoaster.
The song opens with a gentle blend of violin strumming and sharp, trapping production that accentuates Jisoo's voice. Like some of her best vocal moments on BLACKPINK's album, "Flower" features Jisoo breaking free with emotional moans and feisty movements before the song transitions into a high-pitched vocal sequence that will most likely become one of the most listened songs of 2023.
The second track, "All Eyes on Me," shows Jisoo's strong love for dance-pop music, which fans can see live through a cover of Zedd and Foxes' "Clarity" during their In Your Area world tour. Jisoo asked listeners to "Make me feel alive" before asking "All eyes are on me" amidst the vibrant synth-pop dance beat.
Previously, the other three members of BLACKPINK had released solo debuts that managed to top the chart. Jennie first started her solo debut in 2018 with a single titled "Solo". The song reached No. 1 on Billboard's World Digital Song Sales Chart. After that, in the same year, Rosé and Lisa made their solo debut in 2021.
Rosé's "On the Ground" has reached No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. after that, Lisa's "Lalisa" has reached No. 1 on the World Digital Song Sales chart, while "Money" has taken the top spot on Rap Digital Song Sales. Later we will see how BLACKPINK's Jisoo's solo achievements are thanks to the album she released.
