On Tuesday August 8, 2023 at 10.05 KST, Big Hit announced another member of BTS, namely V (Kim Tae-hyung), officially starting his journey as a soloist by releasing his first solo album on September 8, 2023. BTS' V solo debut album will be titled Layover with R&B music that is identical to V's persona.
Through its announcement on Weverse, Big Hit explained that Layover will consist of six songs in total with details of five songs and a bonus song. "Layover consists of 6 songs in total, five songs and a bonus track," Big Hit wrote in a statement on Weverse. In addition, Big Hit also gave a brief description of the six songs that V will perform.
The first song entitled "Rainy Days" will show the fusion of V's vocals with the sound of rain and white noise. Then, the second song titled "Blue" is said to present an "old school R&B" atmosphere with a bit of a "modern twist". Furthermore, the third song "Love Me Again" will feature V's mainstay baritone voice with an R&B theme.
In the fourth song V, Big Hit said that "Slow Dancing" will be the focus song in the album Layover with a '70s romantic soul style that exudes a relaxed and free spirit. And the fifth song titled "For Us" is a combination song between R&B and pop which promises to make a deep impression thanks to the emotion and unique vocals of BTS' V.
As for the bonus song, Big Hit said the song "Slow Dancing" will be available in the form of a piano version. The song promises to bring out a different charm from the original version. BTS' V also spoils fans by presenting video clips for each of their songs. "Music videos for all songs will also be released. V will present new appearances and make various appearances along with the album release," said Big Hit.
This solo project from the owner's real name Kim Tae-hyung is also said to have partnered with ADOR's CEO, Min Hee-jin as a producer. The NewJeans producer was lined up to become the leader in the overall production of BTS' V solo album, starting from music, production design, choreography, to promotional activities.
