The four BLACKPINK members are faced with the issue of contract extensions. Now rumors are circulating that Jennie, Jisoo, and Lisa are leaving YG Entertainment. BLACKPINK stole the public's attention when they debuted with two title tracks, BOOMBAYAH and WHISTLE, on August 8, 2016. 

In accordance with the terms of the YG Entertainment contract, BLACKPINK personnel have been promoting for the last 7 years. In this way, BLACKPINK and YG Entertainment's contract officially ends this August 2023. Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rose must extend their contracts if they want to continue their careers under YG Entertainment which has made their name.

The issue of BLACKPINK's contract extension started on Tuesday July 11, 2023. An agency from China suspects that BLACKPINK's Lisa is no longer under YG Entertainment, because her appearance on Chinese television shows cannot be confirmed.

On Thursday September 14, 2023, BLACKPINK's Lisa also reportedly rejected a new contract offer from YG Entertainment worth 50 billion won or around Rp. 574 billion. On Thursday September 21, 2023, Sports Seoul reported exclusively that BLACKPINK members will remain in the group but are at different agencies.

BLACKPINK's Rose is reportedly the only member who has extended her contract with YG Entertainment. Jennie, Jisoo, and Lisa rejected the contract offer but were willing to continue group activities. YG Entertainment has now adjusted the contracts for Jennie, Jisoo, and Lisa so they can participate in promotions for 6 months.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK's Jisoo is expected to continue her career as an actress and sign a contract with a South Korean-based acting label. BLACKPINK's Lisa also received an exclusive contract offer from a label worth tens of billions of won. Meanwhile, the fate of BLACKPINK Jennie's contract is not yet known.
